Travel Software Development

Booking, quoting and agency systems.

Custom travel software for agencies, tour operators and DMCs — booking engines, quoting and itinerary systems, supplier integrations and agency back-office tools. We build travel products of our own, so the domain is not new to us.

Travel Software Development
Quick answer

We build custom travel software — booking engines, quoting and itinerary systems, supplier integrations and agency back-office tools — for UK agencies, tour operators and DMCs. We also build and run our own travel products, so supplier data, deposit schedules and settlement are familiar ground rather than a discovery exercise.

Travel is a deceptively hard domain to build for. A booking is not one transaction; it is several components from different suppliers, each with its own availability rules, deposit schedule, balance date and cancellation terms. Prices move. Suppliers return inconsistent data. And the whole thing has to reconcile at the end, because the margin is the difference between what the client paid and what the suppliers are owed.

Key takeaways
  • A booking is a composite record, not a transaction. Modelling it flat causes problems forever.
  • Supplier integrations are where timelines slip — data quality varies far more than documentation suggests.
  • Settlement is the part most travel software under-models, and the part the business actually runs on.
  • Caching fare data trades speed against accuracy. That trade-off needs deciding deliberately.

What we build

  • Booking engines with multi-component bookings, deposits and staged balances.
  • Quoting and itinerary systems where a variation is an edit rather than a rebuild.
  • Supplier integrations — normalising inconsistent data into something comparable.
  • Back-office and settlement — what each supplier is owed, and what is left.
  • Agency CRM, including adapting our own platform where it fits.
  • Payment flows handling deposits, balances, refunds and partial cancellations.

We build our own, too

TravelCRM is our own travel agency platform, in production. The rest of our travel work is public as well. That matters mainly because the discovery conversation starts further along: we already know what a deposit schedule is, why supplier data disagrees with itself, and what settlement has to reconcile.

Frequently asked questions

Should we build or buy travel software?

Buy, if a product covers how you work. Build when your process is the differentiator, when no product handles your supplier mix, or when per-booking licensing is scaling faster than the business. We will tell you which, including when the answer is a product we do not sell.

Can you integrate with GDS or consolidator APIs?

Yes, and it is usually the longest part of the project. Supplier data quality varies far more than the documentation implies, so we budget integration work by supplier rather than as one line, and sequence the awkward ones early.

How long does a booking system take?

A focused quoting or itinerary tool is typically two to three months. A full booking platform with supplier integrations and settlement runs to six months or more, driven mainly by how many integrations there are and how cooperative each supplier is.

Can you adapt TravelCRM rather than building from scratch?

Often, and it is usually the cheaper route. Where your requirements are close to what it already does, configuration plus targeted development beats a new build comfortably. Where they are genuinely different, we will say so rather than forcing a fit.

How the engagement runs

  • Scoping call, then discovery. We establish what you actually need before quoting. You approve scope before we write a line of code.
  • Fixed price or capped time and materials. Tightly specified work suits a fixed price; genuinely new work suits a capped retainer. We recommend one rather than offering both and letting you guess.
  • Weekly demos. You see working software every week, so nothing surprising turns up at the end.
  • You own everything. Repositories, infrastructure and documentation transfer to you on payment. No vendor lock-in, no licensing you do not control.
  • NDA as standard, usually before the first detailed call. We will often send one ourselves if you do not.

If you are planning work of this kind and want a straight assessment of scope, timeline and cost, tell us what you are building. We work with clients across the UK, EU and US.
