DevOps Services

CI/CD & cloud.

Optimizing your infrastructure with automated CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native security for 24/7 enterprise-grade reliability.

DevOps Services
Quick answer

We make deployment boring. Infrastructure as code with Terraform, containerised workloads on Docker and Kubernetes, automated pipelines in GitHub Actions or Jenkins, and monitoring that surfaces problems before your customers report them — on AWS or Azure.

DevOps work usually gets commissioned after a bad week. A release broke production and nobody could roll it back quickly; the one person who understood the servers left; the cloud bill doubled without the traffic doubling; or an enterprise customer asked a security question nobody could answer. The underlying problem is almost always the same — infrastructure that exists as a sequence of manual decisions nobody wrote down.

Key takeaways
  • If infrastructure is not in version control, it cannot be reviewed, reproduced or reliably recovered.
  • Deployment should be dull and frequent. Rare, dramatic releases are the risk, not the safeguard.
  • Most cloud overspend is idle capacity and oversized instances, not traffic.
  • A backup you have never restored from is a hypothesis, not a backup.

What we do

  • CI/CD pipelines — automated build, test and deploy, so releasing is a routine act rather than an event.
  • Infrastructure as code in Terraform, so environments are reproducible and every change is reviewable.
  • Cloud migration to AWS or Azure, planned so the cutover is reversible.
  • Monitoring and alerting with Prometheus — alerts that mean something, rather than a wall of noise people learn to ignore.
  • Auto-scaling and cost optimisation, which frequently pay for the engagement outright.
  • Security hardening in the pipeline: dependency scanning, secret management, least-privilege access.
  • Disaster recovery — and crucially, testing that it actually works.

What good looks like

SignalBeforeAfter
Deploying a fixScheduled, manual, out of hours, someone watching nervouslyMerge, pipeline runs, done in minutes, rollback one command away
A new environmentDays of clicking in a console, subtly different from productionTerraform apply, identical by construction
Something breaks at 2amA customer tells you in the morningAn alert fires with enough context to act on
Cloud invoiceOpaque, growing, nobody owns itAttributed per service, right-sized, alerting on anomalies
The aim is not sophistication. It is that ordinary operations stop requiring heroics.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need Kubernetes?

Usually not. Kubernetes solves problems of scale and multi-service orchestration, and it brings real operational overhead with it. For a single application with predictable load, managed container services or straightforward virtual machines are cheaper to run and far cheaper to understand. We will say so rather than sell complexity.

Can you work with our existing cloud setup?

Yes. Most engagements start with infrastructure somebody built under time pressure and nobody has revisited since. We audit what is there, document it, and improve it incrementally rather than proposing to rebuild everything.

How much can we realistically save on cloud costs?

It depends entirely on how the current setup was provisioned, so anyone quoting a percentage before looking is guessing. The common wins are consistent: idle non-production environments running around the clock, instances sized for a peak that never arrives, unattached storage volumes, and old snapshots nobody deletes.

Is this a one-off project or ongoing?

Either. Pipelines, infrastructure as code and a monitoring baseline are a defined project. Ongoing platform operation suits a retainer, which can scale up or down monthly — there is no long-term lock-in.

How the engagement runs

  • Scoping call, then discovery. We establish what you actually need before quoting. You approve scope before we write a line of code.
  • Fixed price or capped time and materials. Tightly specified work suits a fixed price; genuinely new work suits a capped retainer. We recommend one rather than offering both and letting you guess.
  • Weekly demos. You see working software every week, so nothing surprising turns up at the end.
  • You own everything. Repositories, infrastructure and documentation transfer to you on payment. No vendor lock-in, no licensing you do not control.
  • NDA as standard, usually before the first detailed call. We will often send one ourselves if you do not.

If you are planning infrastructure or platform work and want a straight assessment of scope, timeline and cost, tell us what you are building. We work with clients across the UK, EU and US.
